Hi ,

Regarding the output diode such as Dout, do we need it ?

What is that for ?

I assume that it is to prevent the over voltage but such a condition do we need to care about ?

Hi,

Yes, it is to prevent the over voltage on output. Normally you don't need to have much care on it unless you have a very transient load current. You can refer to Figure 12 & 13 on the EVM guide:
