LP87330Q1EVM: [urgent]How can I 2phase, single out setting ?

Part Number: LP87330Q1EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LP8733-Q1

I already posted question about LP87330Q1EVM BD. but not yet, No posted and any reply.

questions are

 how can I operating 2phase - 1out (using only V0) setting ?

please let me know in LP87330Q1EVM , what point must settied somethings.

  • Please refer to Using the LP8733xEVM and LP8732xEVM Evaluation Modules (Rev. A)  User's Guide and the LP8733-Q1 datasheet.

Schematic on page 9 of EVM User's Guide shows R1, R2, and R3 resistors determine how the FB0 and FB1 pins are wired.

On the datasheet, Figure 30. Single Dual-phase Buck Output Configuration shows how to wire the system for single dual-phase output.

R3 must be removed so that the output VOUT_B1 does not connect directly to FB1 pin.

R2 must be installed so that FB1 is connected to GND on the opposite side of capacitor C3 from FB0/VOUT_B0.

  • Hi thanks for kindly guide. it's very helpfull to me.

    but I check result is,

    For 2phase, 1single out

    1) if R3 (V1_Vout line to FB1 pin) open & R2(GND line FB to FB1pin) short = in operating SW V1 is latch-up as not enabled. so V1 doens't work Switching.

       eventhough Iload 3[A] (V0, V1 each 1.5[A]) condition, doesn't work V1 switching (only V0 switching)

    2) just R3 short & R2 open

in this condition (@3[A] I load, each channel 1.5[A}) it works as 2phase operating.

    I can't understanding this situation.

    please re-check 2phase 1out operating condition.

  • Hello,

Have you had any success resolving this issue?  How are you configuring the LP8733-Q1 registers for your application?  Please note BUCK0_CTRL_1 and bit 4 which forces the multiphase operation.

Can you confirm that when R3 is open and R2 is shorted to ground that FB0 is connected to the output voltage and FB1 is connected to ground?

    Regards,

    Chris

  • Hello,

Thank you for the confirmation.  Now that the hardware has been properly modified, let me know if you have any questions about changing the phase configuration via the I2C bus as described here.
