Hi,
looking for every option to save power in battery designs I would like to save the diode that typically sits between the battery (coin cells or whatever small stuff) and the power circuit.
This diode takes ~ 0.5V of my small power budget, so what if I do not place it? What might happen is that a user puts the battery in a wrong direction and I have reverse polaity at TPS62122.
Would it do any harm?

P.S. no in this design it can't be prevented that the battery is inserted the wrong way round
