LM3914: LM3914VX Bank Issue

Hi,

I'm trying to use the new generation of the LM3914VX device, we have used the older 18 pin dip device. When we try and use the pins 14 thru 18 we have an issue with the sinking of the voltage for LED use. The other bank for pins 12 and 13 and bank for 20, 19 and pin 1 work well. This acts like the bank is not connected. We have tried 3 units with the same result.

Hello Daniel,

This sounds like a possible board assembly issue as the whole right side of the PLCC package (pins 14-18) is not working in your application. I would suggest to double check board assembly, specially if three of the devices are behaving the same way. If you can provide it, I will be happy to review your schematics to see if there is possibly an issue with the schematics.
