TPS92640: Do you have any reference design to use TPS92640 with about 400V output for many LED driving in series?

Hello guys,

One of my customers is looking for a reference design which can drive many LED in series with about 400V output using TPS92640 (Buck converter type LED driver).

The LED current is 150mA~300mA as type 1 and about 2A as type 2.

If you know any schematic or reference design using other device, could you please tell me it?

Hello Kazuya,

The TPS92640 really isn't the correct part for this. Can you tell me what the LED stack voltages are?

What is the input voltage and range? Is this run from a PFC boost?

Why are they looking at the TPS92640?

Are there any features they plan on using such as dimming?

Thank you very much for your reply.

They want to stack about 100 pcs of white LED. Input voltage range is about 350~410V and it is boosted by PFC as you said.

Also they want to control LED brightness by PWM dimming or Analog (current) diming with 16~32 steps.

Do you know any TI LED diver which suits to their requirement?

Hello Kazuya,

I would look at the LM3444 or LM3445 for a simple buck driver. There are some other parts, some supported by other groups such as the UCC28810/28811, or the TPS92075.
