TPS63700: How is maximum voltage on 10 Ω resistance between VIN-IN calculated?

Part Number: TPS63700

Hi, team

I have an inquiry regarding TPS63700.

On chap 6.5 electrical characteristics of D/S as attached,

operating current is not supplied.

My customer has to know how to calculate maximum voltage

When users use TPS63700 with 10Ω between VIN – IN.

Thanks

  • Hi Shunnosuke,

    Thanks for reaching out.

I am not completely sure what is the issue here. Is it the voltage drop on this resistor?

The operating current for VIN is not characterized, but it should not be much higher than the quiescent current from the datasheet (400 μA). This is the supply pin for the analog part/control. The recommended value for the resistor is 10-100 Ω, This resistor makes a filter together with the capacitor on VIN pin. When using 10 Ω for example, as recommended in the datasheet, the voltage drop on this resistor is very small.

    Best regards,
    Milos
