Our customer have a question about the TPS65400-Q1 part numbered product.
it is indicated that the product is qualified for the : –40°C to 125°C ambient operating temperature on the first page of the datasheet.
but all of the electrical characteristics are given for TJ = –40°C to 125°C.
As far as he remember, AEC-Q100 grade-1 requires –40°C to 125°C "ambient" operating temperature range.
Since the IC is going to heat up definitely due to power dissipation, recommended junction temperature will be exceeded for sure.
Even though the absolute maximum junction temperature is 150°C, it is not logical to exceed TJ since the Electrical Characteristics are given for the TJ=125°C.
So he concluded that this IC can't be used at 125°C ambient temperature.
It seemed conflicted to him,
that's why he asked.
