TPS2051B: Safe operating area for internal FET

Guru 19575 points
Part Number: TPS2051B
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS2031, TPS2032, TPS2065,

Is there SOA (Id vs Vds) spec information for below power switches?

・TPS2031

・TPS2032

・TPS2065

・TPS2051B

Or, I want to know how much time OK to reach current limit threshold.

Best regards,

Satoshi

  • Hi Satoshi,

    Don't have this curve.

But, according to Rds(on), the Vds and Ids can be drawn.

ABS and recommended value  can be your reference.

I think the current limit value doesn't have related to the time.

For TI's policy, I will first click resolved button.

If you have any other concern, contact me any time.

If you think resolved, please help click 'Issue is solved button'.

    Thanks.

    Thank you for reply,

I understood that not have SOA curve.

Background; customer hope to know whether below inrush current problem or no problem.

(For example, attached waveform is TPS2051BDR)

    I calculate based on Id = VDS / Rds_on.

It is probably no problem, correct?
