TPS610982: Over load protection when output short

Hi Minqiu,

I have another questions on TPS610982. You mention before The IC won't damage if just short the VIN to ground, How about output(load) short?

There is function of Over Load Protection . Can this function protect the device damage in the event of a sudden output short( short VMAIN to GND or short toVSUB to GND) by an unknown reason?

Please let me know your opinion.

Hi Dino:

Long time no talk, hope you are doing well.

There is a diode connect SW to Vmain. It means if the Vmain short to GND, the current will flow through this diode, and can't turn off. The IC may damage if this current is too large.

If Vsub short to GND, the device will limit the current below ILIM_SUB.
