TLV62585: input capacitor 0603/0402 selection

Hi team,

input capacitor currently use 10uF/6.3v/0603, GRM188R60J106ME47

we want to modify 10uF/6.3v/ 0402, GRM155R60J106ME47

however, at DC bias 3.3v, 0402 size will have more tolerant deacy, i would like to understand whether the TLV62585 can be replaced with the 0402 input capacitor characteristics? is there any stability consideration?

Hi Tommy,

I would be better to stay with GRM188R60J106ME47 (10uF/6.3v/0603) because TLV62585 was even characterized with GRM21BR71A106ME51L which has better capacitance derating vs. DC bias. Using a capacitor with lower effective capacitance will result to a higher ripple voltage on VIN pin and might influence the loop stability as well especially at higher load current.
