Good Morning,

I am having some issues measuring the quiescent current of TPS61096 evaluation module. ILIM and EN are set at VIN. Vin is around 3V. I try to measure the input current with a lab sourcemeter but it gives me more than 80uA (current limit fixed by me). Shouldn`t it be 1.2uA? What am I doing wrong?

Hi Matilde:

It's not a right way. The Iq is not same as no load current. Please check the application notes below for details.

May I know what's your Vin range and load condition? I may help to advice the more targeted device.

My Vin range is from 2 to 4.5V and I have no load. Basically as input I have a solar cell that has 4.7V OC voltage and 4.4mA SC current, that should be enough, right? Thank you.

I'm sorry that I forgot to ask what the Vout is. And what's the meaning of "SC" "OC" you mentioned?

Vout is the one set by the evaluation modupe: 18V. SC stands for short circuit and OC stands for open circuit. May I ask you what are the conditions in which you got 1.2uA quiescent current? It would be nice to reproduce them in my circuit.

Got it. For such condition, TPS61096 is suitable.
