TPS61020: ESR of output capacitor

Dear TI Team,

I would like to ask about ESR of output capacitor in TPS61020.

１．If the ESR of the capacitor (tantalum capacitor) used is about 5Ω, are there any concerns other than the large ripple of the ESR component?

２．When using a ceramic capacitor for the output capacitor, the data sheet states that it is necessary to insert a resistor for ESR in series.
Are there any concerns when operating with a ceramic capacitor in series with an ESR resistor (set the resistance value so that it is 30 mΩ or more together with the ESR of the ceramic capacitor)?

Hi Ottey:

1. Is there any other capacitor in parallels with Tan caps? If not, then the ripple could be larger than Io*ESR. And it may cause the loop unstable. We need to check with details conditions.

2. The control loop has been optimized for using output capacitors with an ESR of above 30 mΩ. Generally, it's OK to parallels with a MLCC if there is no quick transient.
