UCD9081: Missing UCD9081 from list of devices

Part Number: UCD9081
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCD9080

I want to use the Fusion Digital Pwer designer tool in the offline mode to create a new project. Since this is a new design I want to develop  it in off line mode.

The UCD9081 device is not listed in the Define System / Offline New device Support list.     and to contact TI.

  • Hello

UCD9081 has its own GUI and Fusion Digital Power Designer does not support UCD9081.

    Please download https://www.ti.com/lit/zip/slvc490

  • Clearly I am not spelling out my concerns very well. I have installed slvc490. Sorry for the lack of understanding at my end.

When I select UCD9081 EVM GUI.exe it opens up when I have the evaluation module connected to it. I thought I could develop an "offline" file with out the EVAL kit connected to it that I could then download to my PCB or onto the EVAL module.  Apparently I cannot do this using UCD9081 EVMGUI.exe ?

I wanted to do two things

    1) use the Eval kit to learn how to program the UCD9081 device, connect an external power supply to one of the rails and introduce a voltage to trigger a failure. I also wanted to use the EVAL kit to try and sequence the power up and power down order of the rails.

    2) create my own set or rail voltages and OV/UV limits, compile the program and have it downloaded onto a UCD9081 device onto a prototype PCB. In this application I do not need to have the supplies sequenced to come up in any given order. I just want the device to monitor the rails and report an OV/UV event. This PCB used to have a UCD9080 device supported by windows XP machines. I want to migrate to the 9081 and use windows or windows 10 PC's to down load the PAR files into the UCD. I just want to use what ever tools will allow me to enter my voltage rails and OV/UV limits.

  • Hello

    Thank you for the clarification.

#1. Do you have the UCD9081 EVM? If so, please refer GUI guide at

    https://www.ti.com/lit/ug/slvu272a/slvu272a.pdf

#2. The slvc490 can work without live device  Please open the slvc490 and make any design changes and save the file to the PC. once your board is ready, you can use the GUI to import the setting to the device.
