TPS7A4001EVM-709: TPS7A4001EVM-709

Dear TI technical support team,

Thank you for your support.

This is Takashi from Digi-Key.

One of our customer purchased two of TPS7A4001EVM-709.

 

According to datasheet it discribe as 5 Vout (Ideal) and 4.981 is actual.

But he explain presets shows only 3.2 V.

And he hook up other board was same thing.

He requires 5 V out board. So.....

Can you give us an advise?

    Can you please provide what the customer input voltage and load current is?
    Can we also see Vin, Vout and the enable voltage on an oscilloscope plot?

    Thank you for you support.

    1. 40V applied with no resistor→3.2V out

    2. 40v applied with 240Ω →3.2Vout

    When Customer change input Voltage is still 3.2V

    He needs 5V though. 

    Is it defective? or Can you find out what's the reason?

    Thanks, this helps.  The TPS7A4001EVM-709 user guide shows that it is manufactured with setpoint resistors of 107k and 59k ohms.  These resistors will provide 3.3V on the output, which is approximately what the customer is measuring.  Table 2 linked in the previous post is from the datasheet, which gives a design example to create 5V.  If the customer would like 5V they will need to replace R1 in the EVM with 162k ohms and R2 in the EVM with 49.9k ohms.  This will match the datasheet setpoint example.  The EVM's are operating as expected.
