what causes that it is not alowed to operate below 300mA ?

can the 300mA minimum allowed current change with Vin, Vout combinations? in other words, can the minimum current change from 300mA to 200mA for a certain Vin and vout combinations? or it is always recommended to keep the load current higher than 300mA under all conditions?

Hi Roland，

I'm sorry that TPS92551 was defined for 300mA to 450mA applicaton, ther internal circuit has been fixed designed for such current range. This device can't be used for the application below 300mA. But we do have some other choice, for example: TPS92200 and TPS9251X.

Is there any Information at which approx. Level the over current protecton for the LED is ? Example: for 300mA LED current, the trip Point may be at 420mA, for 450mA LED current may be at 600mA ? So that I can see which margin I have to the - with the set average current - variable LED over current protection level.

The threshold is about 900mA for short protection
