BUF18830: Customer need Tool to program BUF18830

Part Number: BUF18830

Hi team,

My customer already finished BUF18830 circuit design and their system bord will be back soon.

Now they need to pre-program BUF18830 internal gamma value but there is no tool can do.

I checked there is BUF18830 EVM board in website and it seems can implement this function. But I can't equest EVM board in TI sample syste,.

So need team's support to guide customer how to do.

Thanks

  • Hello Paul,

This EVM  does not seem to be available as I am not finding it in the EVM order system either. The device itself has a standard I2C interface so registers will need to be programmed by the system controller. I am not sure what you mean by pre-programming the device as there is no mention of the programmable eeprom in the datasheet and any values programmed over I2C will lost upon reset or power cycle. Can you please clarify?

    Kind Regards,

    Liaqat

  • Liaqat,

Sorry that I didn't explain clearly. Due to customer would like to do experiment but they didn't know how to do.

So is there any tool can help customer to program BUF18830 output? Hardware and Software?

    Thanks

  • Hi Paul,

I checked and unfortunately there no EVM/tool for the this BUF device. It does have a standard I2C interface so I would think that programming will be rather straight forward once customer has their own system board.

    Kind Regards,

  • Liaqat,

As we can see there is EVM kit in website, so is it possible to request this EVM board?

    Please advise.

    Thanks

  • Hi Paul,

Yes, I have seen that but this EVM is not available anymore and that is why it is no longer orderable from the TI store. If there was a way to get this EVM, I would do that but unfortunately it is not available. If you would like to discuss this further, let's communicate via direct e-mail.

    Kind Regards,

    Liaqat
