LMZ31707: UVLO Level

Part Number: LMZ31707

Hi all,

A customer recently approached me regarding the UVLO level for this device.

The datasheet says that the UVLO level is 4.5V internal. Does that mean with no external resistors and the UVLO pin left floating, the device will have a UVLO threshold of 4.5V?

When using the UVLO pin and external resistors, the UVLO pin has a 1.2V threshold (based on table 8 in section 10.22 of the datasheet). Could you please confirm that?

Thanks for the help,

Derek

  • Hi Derek,

I think you're understanding is right.

The UVLO of 4.5V is referring to the internal UVLO of the VIN pin. If the INH/UVLO pin is left floating and the VIN pin voltage is above its 4.5V UVLO threshold, the LMZ31707 will turn on. The 1.2V threshold is for the INH/UVLO pin and when left floating an internal current source will pull the pin above this threshold.

For the device to turn on, the VIN pin must be above its 4.5V threshold AND the INH/UVLO pin must be above its 1.2V threshold.

Let me know if you need any further clarification.
