Hi there,
TPS82130 integrates inductor on the top side, so it is quite hard to paste thermal wire on it to measure the top side temperature. Then, how to measure the temperature and calculate the junction temperature? Thanks.

Hi Charles,
Jean is looking into this, will feedback to you soon.
Thanks,
Lishuang
A better way is probably by monitoring the Vf of the body diode of the PG output, so you can determine the junction temperature, it's a PN junction.

Hi Jean,
Thanks for your reply.
Did you mean the Vf between PG pin and GND? Is there any reference data like the curve of Vf vs. temp?
Regards,
Charles
Yes, this is between PG and GND.
There is no reference data for this curve, and it may slightly vary from device to next one.
First, you will need to characterize the diode Vf at a low diode forward current over temperature, while the device is not dissipating any power.

Jean
