BQ24630EVM: STAT2 LED is not operated.

hi experts.

I have inquiry about BQ24630EVM test Procedure.

I tested according to 3.Test Summary of EVM User Guide.

However, the battery is fully charged, but the STAT2 LED does not turn on.

when battery is fully charged, Both STAT1 and STAT2 were turn off.

Is it charging fault in the charge state (refer to table 2)?

how I do check for battery charging complete?

What is measured VFB voltage, and measured charge current?

Hi.

the test conditions are as belows.

Power supply #1: 5V

Power supply #2: 1.8V

Vfb : 3.6V

Charging current : 6A

Attached the charging graph.

The total charging time took about 14 minutes.

The blue graph is voltage and the red graph is current.

Hi Robin,

This charging profile looks accurate. What is the STAT2 status? Is it indicating termination? What do you have TTC connected to? What is the voltage measured on STAT2 when you probe it?

TTC is connected with GND with bypass cap 0.1uF as default setting with EVM.

In the TTC description of the data sheet, what is the meaning of termination? is it charging complete or force termination?

as upper graph,STAT2 does not change to low when charging complete.

Hi Robin,

Measure STAT2 voltage when charging is terminated. No, TTC will not force termination but the pull/pulldown will determine whether termination mechanism is enabled or not.
