TPS56637: TPS56637

Part Number: TPS56637

Hi there,

For validation I need to adjust the feedback voltage divider (R_FBT) in small steps (Vout +- 5…10%) with a mechanical rotary switch resp. different given resistors (matrix) when no load is connected.

Would you recommend to disable the TPS56637 before changing R_FBT?

Regards MW

It would be best to disable the output before making changes to avoid complications with the sudden change in feedback and the charging or discharging of the output voltage without slew-rate control such as soft-start.  Decreases in VOUT are particularly concerning if the MODE pin selects FCCM as the TPS56637 will boost excess energy from the output capacitor back to the input, which can create an over-voltage condition on the input since most lab-supplies can not sink significant current from their outputs.
