TPS650864: Automotive AEC qualified alternative part

Part Number: TPS650864
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS6593-Q1, TPS65023-Q1, TPS6594-Q1, LP87564-Q1, LP87561-Q1, LP87565-Q1, LP87562-Q1, LP87563-Q1, LP8764-Q1

Team,

Is there any alternative part recommendation for TPS650864X which is AEC qualified to be used in automotive ?

  • Hello,

There is not a direct AEC equivalent device to TPS650864

The TPS65023-Q1 is a common part used in Xilinx automotive designs which is hardware configurable and we have TPS6593-Q1 releasing early next year which is a simplified version of TPS6594-Q1 which is user programmable. We don't have any pre-programmed spins for Xilinx currently.

  • Hi Kevin,

Is there any alternative which is similar to TPS650864 with Vin min = 5V and I out=At least 10amps with AEC-Q qualification?

  • Hi Aditya,

Currently released, LP87562-Q1 uses 3-ph to create a 12A rail + 4A with the final phase. It can be utilized with multiple LP8756x-Q1 families (LP87564-Q1, LP87563-Q1, LP87561-Q1, LP87565-Q1) to create a variety of different power configurations. The -00 orderable of each of these is configurable, meaning that the safety MCU can write the voltages and sequence into the PMIC desired into the PMIC before enabling them.

In the future, the TPS6594-Q1 / TPS6593-Q1 and LP8764-Q1 / LP8763-Q1 multi-phase devices support integration with a single state machine and either could support the 10A rail. User programming is in development for both, with TPS6593-Q1 coming out early next year.
