TLC5944: VUP connection when LEDs aren't being multiplexed

Part Number: TLC5944

Hi team,

Can you have a look at the following customer question, please?

In the section "Internal Pre-Charge FET" of the data sheet it is stated that the pin "VUP" (Pre-charge FET power supply) has to be connected with the supply voltage of the LEDs for multiplexed LEDs to avoid the LED ghost lighting effect. This is of course possible in any case. But does the pin "VUP" also have to be connected if the LEDs are not connected in a multiplexed arrangement as in our case (we therefore do not have an "LED Drive Line Selector") and you have only one "line", but the LEDs are per se all supplied with VLED on the anode side (see following picture)?

Thank you,

Franz
