UCC2804: operating temperature range

Hi,

In datasheet, it says that the

operating free air temperature is up to 125C

operating junction temperature is also 125C.

Why these 2 temp could be the same since junction temp should always be higher than air temp in my knowledge?

However, in Addendum-Page 1, only UCC1804 Op temp is up to 125C, UCC2804 is only specified to be -40 to 85C.

Then I would like to know which is wrong? Should I believe UCC2804 could be used in 125C temperature range?

Thanks for your patience while we work internally to resolve the issue you brought to our attention. I see what you’re saying and there does appear to be some data sheet edits needed. I will need to further review with the TI document team and update this ASAP. The correct temperature ranges are shown in the addendum pages in the back of the data sheet as:

-55 C<UCC180x<+125 C

-40 C<UCC280x<+85 C

0 C<UCC380x<+70 C
