Line Regulation is a spec for steady state. Line transient is a different topic.

So you would see a +/- 0.02% typical VOUT difference at steady state between 5V and 4V (for instance, per 1 Volt).

Does that make more sense?

Ok, so this spec is still considering a change on the input voltage, but instead of thinking about the change on the input voltage as a transient (i.e. moving from 4V to 5V), this spec is considering what happens when you are at steady state of 4V vs steady state of 5V, correct?

Hello Jared,

It gives you an information on the potential variation you would have at the output if you change the input within the recommended operating condition, which is [2.75V; 6] input voltage. You still have still this condition: PWM mode operation, IOUT= 1 A, VIN ≥ VOUT + 1 V to fulfill .

Let me spell out an example for Line Regulation and you let me know if this is correct..

Let’s say that the initial input voltage is 3.3V and the output voltage is 1.1V at steady state. Then, for whatever reason, the input voltage changes to a 5V source at steady state. Now, your output voltage may deviate by 0.02%/V. In this case, the voltage deviation is 1.7V, so the output voltage can change by 0.02%/V * 1.7V = 340mV, correct? So now the output voltage could be as high as 1.44V?
