LMR14030SEVM: Part Number On which query is LMR14030SQDPRRQ1

Part Number: LMR14030SEVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMR14030, LM61440-Q1, LMR16030, TPS54360B

Hi

I would like to know output tolerance (for device : LMR14030SQDPRRQ1) for output voltages 3.3V and 5V fixed. Input voltage is Vbat.

Application is Automotive.

For your reference attaching our design idea in the format of block diagram.

Please provide requested details.

  • Hi Mahesh,

      1. output tolerance :Do you mean the output load current of LMR14030? If so,it can output 3.5A at 3.3V or 5V.

      2. What‘s  requested details do you need? I am sorry but I didn't quite understand your question.

Do you need I recommend two suitable TI buck converter for this case(24V-5V buck converter and 5V-3.3V buck converter)?

Please  kindly describe the question more specifically, Thanks a lot!

    BR,

    Victor

  • Hi Victor

What we need is output voltage tolerances, when we use TI devices for 3.3V and 5V outputs (Refer to block diagram).

This we would like to know, as system monitoring IC is continuously monitoring voltage variation on both 3.3V and 5V output regulators.

Our plan is to use 2 regulator ICs.

We are checking if we can replace on-semi buck regulators with two TI devices-LMR14030SQDPRRQ1.

For understanding please refer to block diagram. In block diagram we are using two different regulators from on-semi, which we are planning to replace with two TI devices.

Hope the description above gives you fair idea about our application and query.

  • Hi Mahesh,

The output voltage ripple depend on your inductance/output capacitor/load current. They typical output voltage ripple are as follows, you can find them in LMR14030datasheet figure25~28.

LMR14030 looks fine in this case. I also want to recommend our new device LM61440-Q1. LM61440-Q1 is 3-V to 36-V input, 4-A, Low EMI Synchronous Step-Down Converter, which has higher efficiency and lower EMI. The only question is the range of input voltage, if 36V is enough for you, this device will be suitable.

From the block diagram, I think you also need a  5Vinput,3.3V/3A output buck. You can consider TPS62813-Q1 or TPS62090-Q1. Their cost will be lower than LM61440-Q1, because you don't need a wide input voltage socket here.

  • Hi Mahesh,

Did my reply solve your query? If you have any other question, please feel free to reach out. Thanks.

  • Hi

    Not yet.

    I am working on it.

Meantime can you please provide exact values (Min and Max) of output voltage tolerences for device input voltage range, for output voltages,

    - 3.3V

    - 5V

Also for suggested devices please provide quotation for 10K qty for comparison purpose.

    Regards

    Mahesh

  • Hello Mahesh,

Load and line regulation plots contained in datasheet speak to device output variation.

    Is this 24V truck application?

If so, I don't think 40V device is sufficient per load dump requirement.

MAny customers I see choose >60V+ devices
