Hello,

I have been experiencing failures of the BQ24765 output MOSFETs. These failures occur on both the BQ24765EVM and our target PCB. I have tried using a lab power supply as well as the actual Li Polymer Battery assembly connected to the EVM Battery input with similar results. These failures have occurred in charging and non charging operating conditions.

bq24765 is integrated two buck FETs: QTOP and QBOT. On the EVM boards, there are external input FETs and battery FET. Which FET is damaged?

A few parts have had the low side internal FET short to ground. I have had a few parts that have no Vref output.

And then, we can find out the root cause through the general process.

Hello,

in my application the BQ24765 dies when the battery is disconnected. The damage is the Low-Side FET is shorted to ground.
