Hi TI Team,

I want to use Load Switches in My Application. But in Most of the Switch Datasheets along with TPS22978-Q1, it is showing Iout = -200 mA in curves. Wthether these switches are positive switches or negative switches.

Q1)Please Clarfiy why Iout is showing Negative?

Q2)Suggest Some Good Switches with 2A,3A,4A and 6A Rating.

  • Hi Rama,

In the TPS22968-Q1 datasheet, the I_out = -200mA refers to the test condition where 200mA was coming out of the VOUT pin. This is solely the test condition under which specs like R_on is specified. TPS22968-Q1 is an automotive load switch that is able to handle 4A DC current.

The switches you can use depend on your operating requirements as well as certification requirements. For example, we have more non-auto load switches than auto qualified load switches. We also offer various protection features like reverse current protection in some switches.

Please take a look at TPS22916, TPS22919, TPS22919-Q1, TPS22918, TPS22918-Q1, TPS22976, TPS22990, TPS22810-Q1 as a few examples of our devices at various current and voltage levels.
