UA78M: uA78M05 - Looking for Efficiency Report

Please provide the efficiency curve as below for the uA78M05. I can't find it in the datasheet.

If you don't have this report, Could you provide a way to calculate it? We need to estimate efficiency at different input voltage and output load condition. Thanks

    Hey Gary,

    Luckily, for LDOs it is very easy to calculate efficiency.

    Here is the equation:

    You'll find that once IOUT becomes much larger than IGND, that IGND becomes a negligible term.
