LM5032: Compensation network design

Genius 15970 points
Part Number: LM5032

Hello,

My customer is asking a question about how to adjust the feedback loop gain in their boost converter circuit with LM5032 which is similar to Figure 29 in the datasheet( SNVS344B ).

The datasheet doesn't have detail explanation about the loop compensation network for this usage.
So I just introduced the below application note which looks like the similar case.

Do you have any other good document?

  • Oba,

Building the circuit and having access to a network analyzer is the best way to learn how compensation in the lab. Before hardware is designed, simulation is an excellent tool for learning which knobs to turn for a given compensator. Please download and try TI Power Stage Designer. I like this simulation tool because it is not tied to any specific controller and allows the user to explore and learn control loop compensation based on topology and control method. From a control point of view, you can consider the interleaved boost as a standard single phase boost converter. An excellent app note to accompany Power Stage Designer is Switch-Mode Power Converter Compensation Made Easy Thanks for connecting through E2E.
