LM61495-Q1: I.C Stability

Part Number: LM61495-Q1

Good day all. I am looking to design line medium power DC-DC power supplies.

I am looking to use your NEW IC LM61495QRPHRQ1 .

a. Is this a stable IC?

b. are there any special requirements to reduce power dissipation on the IC?

c. Can it be designed using 2 layer PCB?

d. do you have the equivalent for Boost converter (with built in mosfet)?

  • Hi,

    a. Yes this new device has been tested for functional stability and should be a good device for buck (step down) applications that require high output current.

    b. The datasheet provides efficiency curves to help highlight the expected power performance of the device. If you want to squeeze the most efficiency out of this device, you can have the part put in Auto mode for high efficiency at light loads.

    c. Depending on your ambient temperature and power requirement, 2 layer may or may not be enough. It all  depends on your specific application condition, pcb layout and desire to use heatsinks or not.

    d. I would suggest creating an E2E questions asking a specific question on the boost converter you are looking for. An appropriate applications engineer will be assigned to the thread and help guide you to the recommended device.

    Regards,

    Jimmy

  • Hey thank you Jimmy. Much appreciated. This helps.

  • Thank you for using the E2E forum.
