LM61495-Q1: SYNC/MODE pin control

Part Number: LM61495-Q1

Hi team,

Could you advise if I can dynamically control SYNC/MODE pin while the device is operating?

I would like to change FPWM to Auto mode (and vice versa) on the fly.

Is there any concern?

Could you explain how does it behave when the device is running at FPWM at low enough load current to go into PFM,

then eventually set SYNC/MODE pin to Low? or vice versa

regards,

  • Hi,
Yes you can dynamically control SYNC/MODE while device is operating.
We tested this MODE toggling during our validation and we have not seen issue yet during our validation.

I believe, when the part toggles from FPWM to PFM or vice versa, the inductor current can be allowed to either go negative or limited to 0A when the load changes

    Thanks
