TPS61097A-33: Improved DC/DC drop at low battery voltage

Part Number: TPS61097A-33

Hi Team,

After 2.4V voltage input to the VBAT, the LED 8EA (5 seconds) operation produces a lot of voltage drop and enters CUT OFF.

Is there any way to minimize the voltage drop on the DC/DC side?

1. Check voltage drop using power supply

 - No voltage drop occurs on Supply

2. DC/DC output current for LED operation

 - LED 8EA Consumable Current: 30 mA

 - LED + Key function : 43mA

Waveform Operation Sequence: VBAT (Battery Input Voltage) -> White LED 8EA (5 second operation)

  • Hi Sir,

Can you explain you question clearly?

The waveform shows when TPS61097A starts working, the AAA BAT voltage decreases to around 2V. 2V should not cause TPS61097A shutdown.

  • Hi

    The TPS61097A does not shutdown.

Waveform cut-off is a function that shuts down below 2V after the MCU senses the battery voltage.

When using a low-voltage battery, the battery voltage drops below 2V and shuts down intermittently, which should be improved.

The customer would like to know how to tune from the TPS61097A circuit to get the minimum battery voltage drop.

  • Hi,

The waveform shows battery voltage decreases from 2.4V to 2V after 3 seconds of discharging. What's the battery capability? It's quite strange that its voltage decreases so quickly.
