LM51561H-Q1: Boost Converter

Hi all,

I would like to develop an Boost converter using LM51561H-Q1.

The input voltage is 24V, the output voltage is up to 150V @5A .

Are these specifications compatible with the IC.? On the datasheet I read a wide input voltage up to 65V. The output voltage on TI workbench is up to 150V. What advice could you give me? If these specifications don't meet the IC requirements may you tell me the properly IC?

Hello Manuel,

Thanks for your question. For this application, you can use the LM5156 but since the output power is quite high, I would recommend a dual phase approach similar to the one in this reference design: www.ti.com/.../PMP40679

I correct myself, on the absolute maximum rating the output voltage is 300V.

I have other questions?

How can I disable the Hiccup mode overload protection? because I bought the LM51561 so it has this optianal feature.

May you recommend me other IC fot this application?

Hello Manuel,

You cannot disable hiccup mode from the LM51561. The only way not to have this feature is to use the LM5156.
