TPS53622: Atom Intel C3000 - power supply design

Part Number: TPS53622
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS53625,

Hi all,

My customer needs to build a power stage system for an Atom Intel C3000.
At first the system was made up by: TPS53625 + CSD97370; with a 18V supply. --> unsatisfactory results.

The new system envisions a 12V supply, the ICs must be easier to use (no "heavy" current sensing compensation chain). Furthermore inductance and compensation should be easy to access and change in a second moment.

Could TPS53622 + CSD95492/6 be a good fit?

Are there any other/better solutions?

Thanks & Regards,

Nicolas

  • TPS53622 + CSD9k smart power stages sounds like a good option here. Just double check the SVID protocol required for the C3000, and the Peak vs. TDC power to determine which power stage will be best thermally.

The TPS53622 is mainly configured through PMBus. It has internal NVM which can be updated via PMBus/I2C commands. You should consider how the device will get updated/programmed for your prototype builds and in production as well.
