UCC28811: What if DC voltage applied to PFC circuit

Hi,

One of my customer wants to design circuit for the below specification.

Input voltage - 24V AC/ DC +/- 10%

Output voltage - 17V/1A

Isolation - 1KV

Also need PFC to improve on AC efficiency.

We are thinking of UCC28811 for the application. Can somebody help with the design document including transformer?

Since, DC voltage also the input option, is it possible to apply DC voltage to PFC flyback circuit?

The UCC28810 is very similar to UCC28051. You can use the following link for the design calculator: https://www.ti.com/tool/UCC38050-CALC

it is Mathcad version. the calculation is already in this document.

And the controller can support both DC and AC in.

Thanks for the confirmation for DC input use case.

How to use Mathcad tool? I tried open it but not working. Is it require Mathcad to install? in that case it is not useful.

Webench is also not supporting the values which I want to put in tool.

what are the other way? Can I get transformer details? like primary inductance & core size, operating frequency. Rest of the parameters I will manage.

Hi Mitesh,

you need a Mathcad software to open the document.

the calculator includes the inductance calculation based on the frequency. then you can find a magnetic factory to find the core that match the design.
