Hello,

(1)
Can I use LP8553 without I2C control ?
And can TI reccomend this usage?

(2)
If we can use LP8553 without I2C control, please let me know pin processing,
(pull down or pull up or open etc...)

(3)
If we use LP8553 without I2C control,
Please  let me know defalut operation mode?

(4)
Please let me know other concern for using without I2C.

  • Hi,

    (1)    Yes, one option to control LP8553 is by PWM input control. In this case I2C interface is not required.

    (2)    SDA and SCLK pins should be connected to ground if they are not used. VSYNC input should also be connected to ground. FILTER pin can be left floating. VDDIO is reference voltage for PWM input (and I2C), so VDDIO pin should be connected to IO voltage.

    (3)    By default backlight is controlled with PWM input. LED current and PWM output frequency are set with resistors.
