I am interested in adding this part to my design to step down vehicle battery voltage to 6 volts to be further regulated with linear regulators. The charts in the datasheet don't show any data below about 50mA output current. In the system's powered-down state I plan to run less than that. Is there a minimum output current this part can handle? What is the Iq at these lower currents?

Hello Peter,
The LMZ14201H does operate down to very low currents. There is no minimum requirement. I hope this helps.

Thanks for the response. I did find the data I needed through your link. Due to the low efficiency at low current, I'm probably going to use the LM46002 instead.

Here are a few more options. If your input is clamped to a voltage equal to or lower than 36V then you could use the LM43602. It is functionally similar to LM46002 but rated for a lower input voltage. If you were interested in a module solution, then you could consider LMZ36002.
