TPS63010: Voltage Spike at Startup

Part Number: TPS63010

Hello,

I have a customer who is currently using the TPS63010 and they are running into an issue where they are experiencing a large voltage spike during startup.

Below is an image of the input voltage (green) and output voltage (yellow).

It seems that this voltage spike behavior is not reproducible every startup. It is hard to quantify but perhaps once out of every 1000 times when enabling the device.  There are also units that don't exhibit this behavior regardless of number of resets.

Regardless of the voltage spike, I am concern about the how the waveform looks at start up.  Below is a capture of the waveform without a voltage spike.  There seems to be a region over 1ms where the output voltage is not quite settled on to the final value.

I want to ask if you have seen this behavior before and aware of what the issue might be. I have followed up and asked for an image of the inductor current, but it is hard to obtain with the current setup. If necessary I can also provide additional details offline.

Thanks,

Jerry Leung
