TPS22904: Is there any way to deal with "negative supply voltage, integrated load switches" problem

Part Number: TPS22904
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS22915, TPS22916

Hi,

i have a dual supply voltage system with VDD/VSS= +2.5V/-1.0V, and the supply current is 150mA.

LDO is the power source of VDD(+2.5V); DC/DC convertor is the power source of VSS(-1.0V)

i am using TPS22904 as the VDD load switch, is there any solution to switching ON/OFF to my VSS (-1.0V) ?

the ON/OFF control is using MCU with 0-3.3V

Thanks for your help!

Ray

  • Hi Ray,

Our load switches are not currently capable of switching negative voltages. For this to be a possibility, we would need to develop a switch designed specifically for supporting voltages below -0.3V. I do not believe there is a way of switching negative voltages with our current solutions.

Also, you mentioned using the TPS22904 for your 2.5V rail. If you are looking for higher performance solutions, we have the TPS22916 (low leakage) and TPS22915 (low RON) as newer generation devices.

    Thanks,

  • Hi Alek,

Thanks for your kindly reply, and i am sorry there is no solutions for me. thank you.
