Hi Brian,

We only specify TJ to be < 125C in Recommended Operating Conditions because particular TA does not gaurante TJ to be <125C due to dependency on many parameters such as board temperature, solder, thermal vias etc. These vary from system to system and customer board designs.
Since, it is just a controller, it is not expected to raise temperature much.

Thanks. The other question is the abs max. rating for input voltage can be up to 110V. but in recommended input voltage is only 6.8V.
What's the different? if the input voltage pin is connected to a DC bus with 100V, what happens? thanks.

Hi Brian,

The internal blocks (regulator etc) are designed to support large voltage transients such as load dump in automotive environment. The device will be stressed if operated long intervals at higher voltage. For this device, the difference is wide than what we see in several products.

Thanks for reply. Since customer ambient temp is about 85degree and the reqirement is ambient is up to 125degree. so it cannot meet. is there any device suited? This is a critical for my customer on motor safety application. Thanks.

LM5060-Q1 can be used for OVP protection. Please check whether it suits this requirement.
