TPS54332: can TPS54332 maintain a stable +5V output within a input voltage range from 6.75V to 10.8V (maximum load current)?

I am going to use TPS54332 in my design, my product will be powered by a battery, the nominal voltage of battery is 10.8V, the cut off voltage of battery is about 6.75V, so the input voltage range of TPS54332 is from 6.75V to 10.8V, the output voltage of TPS54332 will be +5V, my question is: can TPS54332 maintain a stable +5V voltage output within this input voltage range with maximum load current?

hi,
TPS54332 is non-synchronous buck converter, can't support VIN 6.75V to 5V.
Suggest to use TPS54335 which is synchronous buck converter and support VIN 6.75V to Vout 5V stable. High Vin is stable too.

Hi Kelvin,

In theory, it is feasible, but you need to ensure below too points:

1. The DCR of the inductor should be lower.

2. There is no large voltage drop from the battery to input capacitor.

Dear Shawn,

Thanks for your quick answer, in this case, the battery vendor will customize a battery according to our inputs, so what cut off voltage level will you suggest if I stick to use TPS54332 ? we don't want to change to other TPS series IC for some other reasons.

I have no EVM on hand, I will check it on the bench when I get the EVM. Also, you can check it if you have a EVM.
