TPS7A7200: minimum output is specified as 0v9, but is it possible to run it at 0v85 @ 1A as output voltage?

Part Number: TPS7A7200
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS7A91, TPS7A83A

I understand that the easy answer is NO. But is there a physical limitation that will prevent it to operate or can I go ahead and try it anyway?

Thanks for your response in advance

Erik

  • Hi Erik,

There is not a physical limitation; however, we do not recommend an output voltage of less than 0.9 V for TPS7A7200 as the accuracy specification may not be met. Please note that we recommend TPS7A91 and TPS7A83A as alternative parts based on your output current and voltage requirements. Your 0.85 V output is within the specified region for both of these LDOs and you will also find that these LDOs have less restrictions on their capacitor selections.

    Very Respectfully,
    Ryan
