LMS3655: BIAS=GND

Part Number: LMS3655

Hi, team.

Can the LMS3655 operate with BIAS=GND?

It is described as connecting BIAS to GND or other power supply at 15V or more.

 (4) Operation above 15 V requires the BIAS pin grounded or powered by an external source. A maximum of 16 V can be sustained on the
BIAS pin.

Is it possible to use BIAS = GND at low voltage?

Best Regards,

  • Kobayashi -San ,

The max allowed voltage on Bias pin is 16V and hence if the output of the design is higher than 16V , then it is recommended to GND the Bias connection . Please remember that GNDing the Bias connection will result in higher Iq and dissipation in the device . Yes Bias can also be GNDed even when output voltage is lower than 16V or so .
