LM53601-Q1: treset_filter apply to VIN

Part Number: LM53601-Q1

Hi Team,

Does the treset_filter apply to VIN as well as the FB input?

For example, if my input voltage spikes low (say to 3.3V) very quickly and crosses the UVLO threshold (which can be as high as 3.55V), but the Vreset threshold is not crossed (which can be as low as 3.03V -> 92% of 3.3V output), the device reset can be asserted, but if this event is fast enough, can it be filtered out by treset_filter?

Thank you,

Jared

  • Hello Jared,

The purpose of the RESET flag is to inform the system that a fault has happened. Its input from the LM53601’s UVL circuitry has no glitch filter other than that in the UVL circuit itself. The internal VUL circuit’s output is used since once a UVL fault is signaled, the chip starts its shutdown procedure. Even if there is no fault in the output voltage at this time, an output voltage fault is imminent.

    Regards, Robert
