TPS55340: Regarding Output Voltage of TPS55340RTER with our application

Do you mean you want to get a fixed 4.2V@3A output from both 5V USB charger and 3.7~4.2 battery?

TPS55340 could be configured as a SEPIC converter for this application.

Hi Denish,

If configuring TPS55340 as a boost converter, the Vout will 4.2V when input comes from battery. Vout equals Vin minus voltage drop of diode when 5V USB charger, which is around 4.7-4.9V depending on the load current. Would you accept that?

if i select 0.7V voltage drop diode for USB then i/P will be 4.3V  so i can achieve 4.2V to 4.4V? because our application can't support more then  4.4V so.

Please suggest as right thing for the same.

That's great solution (TPS55340) and package is also small. but problem is output current it is only 2.5A.

can you have buck boost converter for 3A or 3.5A or till 5A in bga small package?

because our application require at least 3A output current so that will be great if we can get 4.2V @ 3A output of buck boost converter.
