TPS746: Power off ringing

Part Number: TPS746

Hi team,

I'm testing TPS746EVM. The input voltage is 5V. Output voltage is 3.3V. Output current is 1A.

When the input voltage drops to zero, the output voltage waveform has strange ringing. CH1 is input voltage, CH2 is output voltage. I would appreciate it if you could tell me the reason.

  • Hi Naizeng,

With Vin near 0V, the LDO is off and the output voltage should be near zero as well. The small voltage glitches may be related to the grounding of the probe from the scopes. I would suggest you connect both grounds of the two probes and redo the tests; you could also try a different prob and see if the ringing disappears.
