TPS22976: how to configure pins if just using one channel

Part Number: TPS22976

Hi Team,

Just want to check with you how to configure pins if just using one channel

Except Vias, can other pins be floating if this channel is not used or pins like EN needs to be pulled to GND. Also, if EN is pulled to GND, will it bring problem? Thanks.

  • Hi Given,

    Welcome to E2E!

I would suggest putting the two channels in parallel as this would add some benefits to the application like being able to drive larger currents and reducing the RON. Here's a link to an application note that talks about using the channels in this device in parallel.

If the customer would like to stick to only one channel then leaving the pins floating would also not affect the application. All the circles in green can be left floating. The TPS22976 will still need a voltage on VBIAS to function, so this pin cannot be left floating.

    Best regards,

  • Hi Andy,

    Thanks for your reply.

For EN2, can it also be pulled to GND if this channel not used? Thanks.

  • Hi Given,

Since the channel will not be used there shouldn't be any problems with tying it to ground.
