TPS61253A: output current rating at different input voltage and 5V output

Part Number: TPS61253A

Hi,

in the datasheet it only specify the Ilim, and 1500mA output current with VIN>=3V.

In theory if Vin is larger, IOUT(max) could be bigger?

Do we have the statistic about output current rating vs. input voltage?

Or I can use Ilim to calculate Iout by Iout(max)=Ilim*Vin/Vout?

  • Hi Howard,

Theoretically if Vin is larger, Iout(max) could be bigger. For a boost converter employing switch valley current limit, the inductor valley current limit is fixed so the average current limit is also fixed. A simple and rough calculation formula is Iout(max)=(Ilim+0.5*ILripple)*Vin*Efficiency/Vout.

    What's the target output current?
