TI Team,
It's common that we use a DC Supply instead of an AC supply at the line input to power the LLC during testing/prototyping (with the PFC powered down). However, since the UCC256404 has the discharge circuit for the X caps, it seems that it might pose a problem if it attempted to discharge the caps across the DC supply when it saw no zero crossing event. We actually used it for a few days of testing like this (with seemingly no ill effects) until we considered the possible problems that might be caused by the discharge circuit.
Can you comment on how the controller will react in this use case scenario? Is there any harm in testing in this manner?
Thanks in advance
