LM5164: Using the output of this to input directly into the BQ24196RGE

I am looking at using the output of the LM5164 to directly power the input to the BQ24196RGE.

Obviously the issue arises that I would have to remove the input capacitor on the VBUS pins as this would affect the ripple output that the LM5164 depends upon for stability.

The only solution I can see is to power the BQ24196RGE VBS from the capacitor after the 450mohm resistor (added for stability), although this will introduce the resistor into the main current flow and will obviously need to be a higher voltage and would dissipate heat. I am not concerned about the added voltage drop.

Unless its acceptable to connect the VBUS directly to the 200mV roppled output of the LM5264 without an input capcitor to the BQ24196RGE.

Hello

As you mentioned the output capacitor of the LM5164 must be in place for proper operation.

I am not familiar with the requirements of the BQ device, since that is in another group.

However, if you can attach your schematic showing both devices, we may be able to help further.
